Do CBD Gummies Help With Pain?

Welcome to the Canax blog with Sophie and Jess, co-directors of Canax CBD. Here, we’ll be discussing all things CBD as well as our own personal journey in the world of CBD gummies.

In today’s blog, we’ll be answering the question of whether CBD gummies help with pain. We’ll also discuss the legality around CBD and THC products, how they work and how long it takes for CBD edibles to kick in, the various benefits of CBD edibles, and where to buy CBD gummies online in the UK.

Let’s start with legality of CBD gummies before getting to the benefits of CBD gummies and how they can help with pain.

Are CBD gummies illegal?

CBD gummies are perfectly legal in the UK, as long as they only contain CBD in the ingredients as opposed to THC. THC is the psychoactive element of the cannabis plant and is illegal in the UK, but CBD is not, so it’s completely legal.

How Do CBD Gummies Work?

How Do CBD Gummies Work?

Our Mummy Gummies range of CBD gummies work in a similar way to CBD capsules, however, since our gummies are coated, they work sublingual through the mucous membrane rather than going into the digestive tract and then the bloodstream. Some of the CBD that isn’t lost via the mucous membrane will, however, also go into the digestive tract. After consumption, the CBD interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system, which leads to a number of changes within your body that can be incredibly beneficial for its overall functioning.

According to scientific research carried out in the field, CBD directly interacts with various ion channels and TRPV1 receptors to confer a therapeutic effect and help mediate pain perception, inflammation, and body temperature.

How long does it take for CBD edibles to kick in?

Different CBD edibles will take different amounts of time to “kick in”, but generally speaking, on an empty stomach you can feel the effects of our CBD gummies within 20 to 30 minutes.

If you’ve recently eaten however, it may take a little longer and the effects may be felt somewhere around the 60 minute mark after consumption.

The benefits of CBD are vast, and research is always ongoing into the power of CBD gummies and CBD in general. Do CBD Gummies work for pain?

Do CBD Gummies work for pain?

A question we get asked a lot at Canax is if CBD gummies work for pain, and we can safely say that yes, this is the case.

We’ve had lots of customer feedback that tells us how fantastic our Mummy Gummies CBD edibles are for pain, and how everything from chronic pain to back pain symptoms can be successfully alleviated with CBD gummies and CBD products in general.

Some of the science behind CBD and pain relief

But it’s just our feedback we rely upon for our claims that CBD can really help with your pain, it’s also science.

For instance, a scientific journal written by 2020 by Donovan A. Argueta, Christoper M. Ventura, Stacy Kiven, Varun Sagi, and Kalpna Gupta, studied various research into CBD and it’s beneficial effects on chronic pain. They found that “rising prevalence of non-psychoactive cannabinoid CBD presents an opportunity for the treatment of intractable chronic pain for which primary treatments are insufficient or not possible”.

This is backed up by Sonja Vuckovic in “Cannabinoids and Pain: New Insights From Old Molecules”, which we referenced earlier, who tells us how cannabinoids act via cannabinoid receptors and other receptors, ion channels and enzymes to inhibit the release of neurotransmitters from presynaptic nerve endings, resulting in pain mediation.

And in “The Health Effects of Cannabis and Cannabinoids: The Current State of Evidence and Recommendations for Research” by The National Academies of Sciences et al, the researchers found that adults suffering from chronic pain who were treated with CBD, were more likely to experience a clinically significant reduction in pain symptoms. This was when compared to the use of conventional pain medication in the USA, and again helped demonstrate that the benefits of CBD when it comes to pain management.
